Attorney, Author, and Advocate I live in Michigan with my husband, two kids, two cats, and a gecko. I'm a University of Michigan Wolverine through and through, so it's not a coincidence that my Sohni Silver Mysteries are set in Ann Arbor. I've practiced law for 25 years, including a number of years providing free legal services to the poor. That experience turned me into a passionate advocate for equal access to justice, and that passion is reflected in my Sohni Silver books. Sohni fights for the underdog; she speaks for those whose voices are not heard. I really like Sohni, and I hope you do too. The first book in the series, Byline, is out now.

In September 2016, the author achieved her initial crystal trophy award as the best author in the crime category. Within the same month, she received an honorable recognition as the best author of crime.
