The book African Child Anthology is a collection of poems and short stories from around the African Continent. It is a book where several writers write to bring out the beautiful cultures and traditions of the African Nation and it extends beyond this objective to also teach the young generation the true ways of Mother Africa, to revive the fading traditions of our people and to show the whole universe the beauty and pride of the African people. Away from the cultures and traditions, some writers also dived into addressing the ill fate of structures and circumstances in some of the African countries, emphasizing on the disheartening state of the Nation and therefore pointing out possible solutions to curbing the situation.

The Invisible Victory by Muje Bucpapaj

In poems such as “The Wind’s Statue,” we find another irony: the violence was aimed at the poet, as he stands for all who require freedom of expression. Yet the voices of the people survived in him, while the people themselves were murdered. The victory is evident in the fact that, despite their deaths, they were not silenced, and that is because one survivor with a voice and a gift was not afraid. Many more after me will sing praises of Mujë Buçpapaj’s great work. The Invisible Victory is a gorgeous, timeless victory.

Lost In The Colors by Irma Kurti

Lost in the colors contains 60 previously unpublished love poems. Many of them were written during the pandemic lockdown. During that time, we felt trapped within the walls of our home, which, for some reason, felt, not like a refuge, but like a space that was too small to breathe and relax. These poems were written when Italy – and, more precisely, Bergamo, where I live – was the epicenter of the epidemic. We really did feel lost among the colors, which changed frequently depending on the situation, confusing us still further. A phone call or a simple conversation seemed to bring us the world. I hope that the poetic collection Lost in the colors brings a smile to your face and reminds you of the chaos of feelings and emotions that only love and its nuances can evoke.Cover photograph by BIAGIO FORTINI.
